As part of Investor Week 2025 , Latinex celebrated three important activities that reflect its sustained commitment to financial education, innovation and the development of the capital market in Panama and the region.
The event, which brought together more than 100 attendees in person , including students, professors, representatives from the financial sector and strategic partners, aimed to promote stock market culture, analytical thinking and practical learning among the new generations of investors and market professionals.
Promoting financial responsibility globally
The day began with the Ringing of the Bell for Financial Literacy , an initiative promoted worldwide by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) , of which Latinex is a member.
With this symbolic act, the Panamanian market joins more than 100 stock exchanges around the world that promote education and financial responsibility as pillars of sustainable economic development.
The ceremony was attended by the Superintendent of the Securities Market of Panama, Maruquel Murgas , who reaffirmed the relevance of these initiatives in building a transparent, inclusive and resilient financial ecosystem.
Skills that train analysts and investors with a global vision
The second event of the day was the Final of the Third Stock Market Competition “Stock Sales Pitch” , in which 47 university students presented financial analysis proposals on Panamanian companies listed on the stock exchange, strengthening their research, strategic thinking and effective communication skills.
The finalists were:
- 1st place: Jorge Daniel Puente – University of Panama (Assa Group)
- 2nd place: María Karla Tamayo – ADEN International Business School (Assa Group)
- 3rd place: Isaac Martínez – University of Panama (Mercantil)
During the process, participants received support from industry mentors, who guided them in developing their presentations, reinforcing their understanding of the Panamanian stock market and the dynamics of responsible investment.
Latinex CEO Olga Cantillo highlighted that these initiatives “consolidate our commitment to training new generations of analysts and investors with a global vision and a solid technical foundation, contributing to a more competitive, transparent and innovative financial ecosystem.”
Practical learning through stock market simulations
The day concluded with the awarding of the Second Simulated Trading Course/Competition , a program that replicates real stock market conditions, allowing participants to apply investment and risk management strategies in a controlled environment.
